Children's Liturgy
Children's Liturgy is the "Liturgy of the Word for Children". During the first half of our Celebration of the Eucharist, we listen to readings from the Bible, followed by the Homily where the Priest or Deacon may interpret and relate the readings to Christian life.
As one can imagine, this part of the Mass is of little interest to our young parishioners.
Children's Liturgy leaders bring our children together and read from the Children's Lectionary, the same readings of the day, but it is written in a way that catches their attention so they can enjoy and understand. After the readings, the children are invited to participate in prayers, discussions, songs or other activities as they reflect on the readings. The goal is to help the children to grow in their faith and to develop as full and active members of our Parish community.
Leaders and assistants are needed to help in this Ministry. Resources, guidelines and training are provided for any adults or high school students who are willing to commit to being a part of this rewarding ministry. Please leave your name at the Parish office, if interested or for more details.
